This practical, easy-to-follow training programme gives participants the tools and skills in the art and practice of guiding, teaching, motivating and mentoring others to improve their performance. A comprehensive, practical and transferable set of tools necessary for planning and delivering one-to-one coaching sessions within the workplace.
Coaching has various definitions but in this course it is seen as helping others succeed within a defined context such as a specific task, skill or responsibility.
A coach in a business context could be someone who is expert in a particular area, or a potential motivator in a position to inspire others to achieve higher performance. It can also mean helping others set goals or find a direction for their efforts. Coaching might also be developing and maintaining an ongoing developmental relationship with some of the organisationís young stars. Preparing someone to be a coach can mean training him or her in one, all, or any combination of these roles.
This Foundations course is delivered over one day. There will be two further optional days for those who have done the introductory course in the autumn of this year.
The Course is based on the standard curriculum developed by the American Society of Training and Development (ASTD) and certified by the Executive Coaching Institute of Ireland (ECII).
