Human resources are a company’s greatest asset, and arguably the most challenging area to manage. How to get top performance from employees at all levels is what creates highly successful and competitive organisations. For the past decade a new set of tools has been under development in the United States aimed exclusively at human performance improvement. These tools have been branded as HPT (human performance technology) and are now available to companies in one package. They give companies the ability to fill all sorts of performance gaps, link performance of people to business goals and get quick, cheap and effective results in a simple, easy-to-understand way.
HPT is now used in the US/Germany/Denmark as a highly practical and successful tool for achieving high performance among employees at all levels and across all functional areas. The world’s largest learning organisation, the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD) has adopted it as one of only two core methodologies it now certifies and promotes and in Ireland, Skillnets and Enterprise Ireland are examining how it can be used to improve the competitiveness of Irish companies.
The HPT process helps companies to articulate their business goals, link these goals to human performance, diagnose the current state of performance in the organisation, find the root causes for performance deficiencies, implement solutions, and evaluate the results of the interventions. During the course, you will also glimpse what it feels like to do performance consulting inside your firm and what it takes to manage the change that accompanies interventions.
This Foundations course will introduce you to analysis tools and give you access to job aids that will help you get to the bottom of your performance issues. There will be a series of focused follow-up courses in the autumn for those who wish to take this concept further. The Foundations Course is certified by the Institute for Performance Technology (IPT).
